Dentistry interview

路是人走出来的 ：D

Oh wells I went to China from 12th April to 18th April (I reached SG at around 5.30am). Then, I have to rush to for my dentistry interview! From airport to home to AC to NUS faculty of dentistry just in that 3 hours, oh phew~

I''m going to blog about my China trip soon, hopefully by Saturday(haha if I have the time xD)!
I'm so glad that Mrs Soong wrote my reference letter so at least I have something to show to them :D Really thankful for that and she even tell me that she can arrange 1 week job attachment for me to talk about for the interview but you see I can't go for that job attachment ( :( ).

I waited for more than 40mins before it's my turn because circle line broke down and some people were late (ah yah broke down again :/ ) Lucky my dad fetch me so i wasn't caught in the break down. :D While I was waiting for my turn, I wasn't really nervous but I was sleepy (I didn't have enough sleep, didn't have a nice and proper sleep on the 5hrs I had on the plane). When I went in, I started to get a little nervous. Shall share my questions here...

1) What courses did you choose? (1st, 2nd, 3rd choice)
2) Reasons on why you choose the course (I only managed to answer my 1st choice and they post other questions)
3) There are other jobs you can do to help others, why dentistry?
4) Why are you inspired by your dentist?
5) Why do you think you can be a good dentist?
6) You can be a social worker/ teacher if you are patient and understanding, why dentistry?
7) People are not willing to go to the dental clinic, what should you do to allow them to come willingly? (something like that~)
8) Do you have any role/ position in your CCA/ school that you display your qualities (understanding) ?
9) Describe a difficult situation you faced and how you overcome it.
10) Your teacher say you have tenacity, what made your teacher think so?
11) What are my hobbies?
12) How do I relieve stress?
13) Is there a culture difference between your secondary school and JC?
14) Do you know about this difference before that?
The 20mins bell kind of rang and they asked if I have any questions to asked (I said not at the moment xD, cos i really have no idea what to ask) :X
They are actually quite scary when they asked me why dentistry, and why not other courses.
Hmm.. I can only say that I'm not really that well prepared D:
My chances of getting in is quite low I guess, but still I must be confident right? haha!

Ohya then I had my Manual Dexterity Test right after my interview, the lady is very nice, she asked if I need milo to perk me up (I think she can see my tired face :( )
There are 3 components to the test
1) Bend wires to a given shape
2) Mold the plasticine to a shape of a teeth (sample given)
3) Carve a shape (cube and a small cube) on a white-hard-solid cylinder

Omg, the third one was really hard! Hard= difficult and hard=white cylinder! I tried my best for that, my hands ache after that! LOL!

Haha! Anyway, it's over so let's just wait for the results :D

The getaway

I went for a short trip back to Muar during the weekends :)
We went there to sweep the tomb(is it the correct term for 扫墓?) of my grandpa and great grandpa because it's 清明节 (ehh what's the English word for that, tomb sweeping day(?)).
It's lovely to go back there, the environment is really nice, there is this kampung feeling there even though there is much urbanisation here and there. Haha!
Anyway, my mind was still in a mess because of the choices of the course I made in university, but lucky I went there to temporarily escape from the mess :/ and to think better of my choices, actually.
